Whatever you guys do, i know it will rock. Will it come with a clip and a hot looking chick for a 13,000 dollars?

I have to say I was really hoping for a framelock, its just such a solid design. That said an axis type lock wouldn't be bad. I suppose as long as its tough and not a liner lock, its all good.

The lock will be a piece of rod that you have to stick through matching holes in the frame and blade. It's attached to a piece of cord so you don't lose it. Sure it takes a long time, but it's almost as strong as a fixed blade when you finally get it in there. Oh and street price will be much lower, it'll be around $700 or so.*

*No I'm not serious. At least I hope not.

My God, I was joking, then I remembered about the RAO. I knew at least one person would beat me to it. And no, no love for the RAO, I would carry a fixed blade.

Whatever Jeff, Mike, and Shon come up with I am sure it'll be as strong as an ox...(I am hoping it's based on the Spyderco Compression Lock...)

I guess I'm in the minority, but I'm glad it's not a frame lock. I'm now more excited! I hope a picture (even of the CAD drawing) comes out soon.

I'm always confused by the frame lock bandwagonners, who get upset when it's not framelock, and then say "as long as it's not a liner lock" even though many liner lock designs are sturdier than frame locks.... am I missing something?

Don't get me wrong, I like frame locks and have the Ti Military on the way. I just don't get the lock prejudice on here that has no basis in reality...

Personally, I'd be happy with frame lock, back lock, liner lock, compression, friction folder, etc.... Knowing ESEE, I could easily see the Izula as a backlock design, it would make perfect sense and follow their design philosophy of: It aint broke, don't fix it.

I'm with you. Now, if it's a liner lock, I hope they don't have the finger cut out on the opposing liner. If the folder is meant for hard use, get rid of that cut out so the finger doesn't accidentally unlock the lockbar in case you have to pry open something and impart torque on the blade.

Think of how the Gayle Bradley m4 folder from Spyderco is constructed and you'll know what I mean.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind any of the following. linerlock, tri-ad lock, Axis lock, ball bearing lock, lockback, midlock.

I'm not on that bandwagon at all. I don't even own a framelock. That's one of the reasons why I was excited for the Izula folder. Also, the liner lock is one of my favorite type of locks. If it's not going to be a frame lock I just hope it's something traditional (back lock/liner lock) not something like the compression or axis lock. Like one before said, knowing ESEE, they won't make it something complicated that has many parts that can break. It will probably be something simple and functional.

Edit: And the "basis" for people who prefer the frame lock is that it's the simplest lock there is which also happens to be functional.

Long story short. I am a AXIS SLUT!

I have no issues with other locking mechanisms however I enjoy the AXIS the most. I have tried and used many a frame and liner lock etc etc and have no problem recommending them. However I prefer to use a knife (BM in this case) utilizing a AXIS.

Spyderco, Kershaw, Boker, BM all make a solid product but in the end I always go back to the AXIS.

Oh cool! Does Extreme Ratio have anything to with this new folder?
