Folder advice.

I've had a 550 Grip - 154 CM is good steel,but I like VG-10 better.
The VG-10 I've used is from Al Mar - I think they heat treat it better than Spyderco but Al Mar is also more expensive. However VG-10 is easier to sharpen and takes a better edge, especially after some stropping it gets incredibly sharp

Both are great knives! I like VG10 and 154CM and have no complaints about them. As for the knives. Two different designs.

In your post you say Delica or Benchmade Grip. Now if you are referring to the large grip I say go with that one for the extra blade length. If you are referring to the mini grip get the Delica. Why? It is easier to open (for me at least) with gloves, and fits the hand better due to the longer handle. The mini Grip has a cramped feel for me.

I just got a Mini Grip today in a swap. It seems like it would be a great woods folder.

I traded a GEC #23 Pioneer for it (also a great woods folder).

I have a mini Ritter grip as my edc. I own & have carried many others, but I keep coming back to this one for the same reasons others have pointed out (blade shape, ease of deployment, lock mechanism, edge holding, etc.). I had a problem getting it sharp at first, but once I spent some time with a DMT hone, I got it where I want it.

I buy other knives because I like knives, but this one is the one I always carry.

Sort of ironic, but my biggest problem with it as a woods knife is that I feel I spent too much on it to lose it in the woods. lol
