Folder clip: Pocket or IWB?

When I carried in my front pocket with a pocket clip, I simply did not like the way the clip stood out like a sore thumb, advertising the fact that I had a knife there.

This was a problem for me since I'm out at customer siters 80% of the time. Having shiny clips gleaming off your pants can be a bit threatening when you're talking to a customer.

I solved this by taking a tip from these forums and wrapping the clip in black heatshrink tubing. It doesn't look pretty, but the clips virtually disappear against a pair of black pants. They're more "grabby" as well, but I've found that they lessen the wear on pockets and waistbands.

No need to move. It is NOT illegal for IWB in Canada.
Technically, even if i clip my knife on my jeans pocket and have a jacket over that, they could haul me off for conceal weapon. Yes you could carry in IWB without it concealed, but i think it's even more prone to having something blocking the view and have some overzealous cop finding out you have a knife.
I found the Criminal Code on carrying knives are ambiguous, but that's another matter best reserved for another place.

Indeed it is ambiguous, at best. It all boils down to the way you present yourself if you should ever be questioned about your knife (or method of carry). No knife is ever allowed for self-defense carry in Canada. You may carry your "utility knife" or "box cutter" in any fashion you see fit.

The point is to not advertise the fact that you have a knife anyway. There should be no need for anyone - LEO or otherwise - to hassle you for simply walking down the street with a knife in your pocket or waistband.

I have a mid-sized GS2 that I carry regularly. It is just a little too large to carry comfortably in my pocket, so I've taking to IWB. Personally, I find it very comfortable. I change clothes at work, and have dropped it a few times, but it ought to hold up to that just fine. My only problem is that a couple times I have stood up to find my knife has worked out of my pants, somehow opened a little, and is now attached to my shirt like a little pointy alligator. Hasn't really happened in about a year though, and I don't know why it did or why it stopped.
