Folder count

While organizing my folders today I decided to count them. In my case some are $20 and up to about $300. I'm curious of how bad your addiction is. I'm hoping to simmer down a bit. I have more than I need but do get enjoyment out of carrying what i choose. My folders added up to 67. Fixed blades is for another day!

I honestly don't know how many knives I have. Probably about 50; maybe more. Most cost less than $50USD. A few are around $100 USD.

I have circa 25 folders, from <$25 to $2500 with most around $500ish.

I have six knives I call my usable carry collectors they range in price from $300 to 800 ~ got a few run of the mill $ 50.00 types in my many tool boxes and some in just about every draw in the house ~ A few in the suv and some I'm sure I put around the garage in different places for quick grabs that I might have needed for any reason but have forgotten about by now ~

About 20 fixed blades. Double that if I count Mora woodcarving knives, Hultafors beaters, throwing knives, machetes and kitchen knives.
About 35 folders.
About 15 SAKs.
Maybe 7 Opinels.

So, 100-ish I guess. A nice round number

After a huge cut down of my collection, I am now in the 30-35 knives range.
I have knives in the $ 50-2.000 price range

This is the status of my knife collection as of 05/31/2024:

Automatics: 34
Balisongs: 20
Fixed Blades: 71
Folders: 286

Is it an addiction?
No, it's not because I intentionally decided NOT to buy any knives in 2023 & can stop again any time I like.

For me, it's just a hobby. There are worse ways that I could spend my $.

Is it out of control?
No, it's not because I still have lots of $ on hand, can pay all my bills on time & my house doesn't look like a hoarder lives there.

Am I still buying more knives?
Yes, I am. Just check the recent acquisitions thread. LOL!
