Folder designed for prying?

Balls in your court , $400 bucks worth of GB or ER , or $4 bucks worth of small wunderbar . Course you could also go the free bent . busted and reground Craftsman screwdriver route . As always ymmv .

Yeah, those will work just fine, as will an ordinary pry bar .... but no self-respecting gadget junkie is gonna be satisfied unless it costs at least $40. ;)

A.G.Russle catalog has a sailor knife in the $100.00 area that should satisfy the gadget junkie in most.

well i'm not really a gadget junkie. Which is why i wanted a knife that would stand up to some prying. Less tools to carry around. Oh well i suppose that i'll just stick with the wunderbar.
The situation is that i'm just finishing up building an upscale houseboat and the owner has already moved in and dosent want us to do any more work on board. So we have to do everything either in an unheated wearhouse near the boat or in some empty yet heated offices a little further out, but we cant do any real work in the offices, just staining and finishing because the owner who's letting us use the place gets mighty pissed if we make a mess.. So its just a big hassle to carry around a bunch of stuff between all the work spaces, and my boss is an idiot. Who lets the owner move in before your done? Anyway, thanks for the help.

The Stanley wonderbar is a good choice Chris. I have both a Stanley wonderbar and prybaby. I find that I use both quite a bit. In fact, I have taken the prybaby off my keyring and placed it in the top drawer of my tool chest (the top drawer is reserved for my 'frequent use' tools). Having it on the keyring diminished the full utility of the prybaby IMO. The prybaby truly is an amazing tool. Everyone should own one.

Mmm and what about a Hinderer XM-18 with Spanto blade? I'd get a prybar too but I'm pretty sure you can pry with the XM-18 with no problems...

I use my EDC for prying at work a lot. So i was wondering if anyone knows of a quality folding knife designed for prying?
I've long since broken the tip off my CRKT Cruiser and it works fine for prying now, but i just feel a little strange EDCing a "broken" knife.

I think you've answered your own question. The Cruiser is a tough knife and you have already "converted" it for prying use. What's wrong with a broken knife if that's what you need? The beauty of a knife lies in its function.

You can get a small pry tool at any paint/ hardware store for about $5, give or take. Even if you don't break your blade prying, there's a good chance you'll damage it.
