Hi. I am very interested in making my own folder, and would like to make it with an inner liner lock. My problem (one of them…:o) is how to make the springy piece in the inside. What HT? Or can they be bought separately? Any other ideas, tips, pictures etc. regarding home made folders will be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance!

There is no info in your profile, so i don't know enough to give you a personalized answer.
However, there is good skills and knowledge to be gained from making a folder from a kit. You will learn how the lock works, and pick up some finishing skills.

www.knifekits.com is an excellent supplier of all sorts of kits and parts.

Bob Terzuola's book, The Tactical Folding Knife, has all kinds of info on liner locks. Great resource, if you can find one.

I just read the link that 1234567890 posted, and it's a downloadable version of Bob T's book :o

Thank you all. As I'm quiet new to the net () I will appreciate your explanation regarding what info I should add to my profile?
Thank you all again.

It appears you have no info in your about me page. That provides those who answer questions some insight into what kind of work you do, skills and hobbies, age and family info, and the general area where you live.
A 55 year old machinist wishing to make a first knife will get a very different answer from a 16 year old student with the same question. Also, many new makers will receive an offer from a local seasoned smith to come over and learn first hand at their smithy ( which obviously can't come if they don't know you are nearby).
