Kabar italicized and lower case letters began in 1952 so it cannot be WW2. Were it WW2 era it would be marked KA-BAR. Model numbers were not stamped on blades until Cole National bought the company and name and they didn't put the model numbers on blades until about 1969. Another clue is that nickel silver for the bolsters was not allowed for civilian use from late 1942-1945 when the war was over.
