Eric explained where the liner meets up with the back of the blade, the blade is ground slightly concave so that it is more difficult for the liner to move to the unlocked position when under pressure. It also serves to prevent the liner lock from getting too tight if the blade is opened by "flipping" it open. At first glance, it appears there is no liner because the scales wrap around / enclose the liner. It was very smooth to operate and the clip is reversible for right or left hand use, but not tip up/tip down options. Very well constructed.
