Folder pivot assembly

So I am trying to figure out how exactly I need to machine the pivot area of a folder I am making, and would like to know how I should do it. Do I just drill a little bit down into the handle with a drill bit bigger than the pivot hole to leave a spot for a bearing or do I have to create a lip around the pivot hole so the bearing will fit snug? Pictures of bearing pivot assemblies would be great! Thanks!

You don't need a lip, just a correctly sized hole. Also, I would highly recommend a counter bore instead of a drill bit. That's exactly what it's made for. Every time I use one it makes me happy because it does it's specific job so incredibly well :)

If you're talking about IKBS (making your own ball bearing track), do yourself a favor and get diamond grit and work-in disposable bearings. Then clean out all the grit, add new bearings and new grease.
