Folder pivot help.

So I'm making a friction folder with 2, 1/8in Micarta scales and a 1/8 in blade, totaling up to 3/8. If I'm not mistaken I would want a pivot slightly smaller than that, like 5/32? But I can't seen to find any in this size. All I can find are .5 long. I tried resizing the ones I had but it took a long time and I couldn't get it to work in the end. So if anyone knows where to get them please let me know. Thanks a lot!

That would be 3/8"

I just buy 1/2" and grind em to the length I need.

That what i ment Oops that's embarrassing thanks.... I tried but the threads got messed up and I feal it would be easier to just buy them.

After you grind it down, run a tap through it to clean up the threads.

Thanks for your your help phydeaux, good idea. I guess i'm just surprised no one would make a pivot in the right lenth, seems like it would save a lot of time.

The reason is your measurements are nominal.You say your blade is 1/8" but is it .120 or .128 or even as thick as .140.Your scales could also vary in thickness,Each pivot need to be fitted to the knife.
