just wondering what all you esee guys carry as folders..im looking to pick up a new folder and i cant seem to make a decision on this...been looking at boker, CRKT, Ka-bar, SOG...would like an assist opening knife..but havent found one i like for the price..not a big liner lock fan, but if it fit the bill i might bite..and not looking to spend a ton of money either..around 40-60 bucks..retiring my spyderco native...any suggestions will be appreciated thanks fellas..
oh and also looking to keep the size around or under 7in OAL

well its a bit more than your price but i've been carrying the zt350, its hell for stout and takes a wicked edge and keeps it. i'm waiting on a kershaw tyrade with a composite blade that should be sweet too. i really like the assisted openers.

take it easy

If you can spring for it, Amazon has the Benchmade Barrage knife for around 80 bucks, and I've been carrying it as my assisted folder for about a month now and it is an excellent knife. Its a bit hefty though, so if you're looking for something lighter you can always go with a SOG Aegis or Flash series knife, but I've always had problems with blade play in my SOG assisted knives.

I've been Carrying a BM740 Dejavoo & I am loving it
a folder for your Price range , I never had a Problem with any Kershaw folder I purchased for my Son

I dont carry folders anymore. I hate assist opening cause the spring and or tension bar will give out in time. My damn kershaw i had for years had to have 3 new tension bars before i said screw it. Go with a small fixed blade. Its stronger and wont fail due to mechanical issues. BUT if you have to have a folder get the spyderco delica or the Centofante III OR any of the spyderco byrd line knives with g-10 scales that have lockbacks. Good luck

My trusty Ritter Griptilian is always near to hand. Used hard for the last 4 years and still going strong . . . .

RAT1
Columbia River Lightfoot
Kabar Warthog II and Dozier drop point
Buck 110
Svord Peasant
These are all in the rotation, there are some more slipjoints and swiss army knives that I'll generally carry. Today it's just a Buck Paklite Skinner and a SAK Spartan.

I still love my Emerson A-100, but doesn't really meet any of your criteria. I'd second something from Kershaw in that price range, but all are frame or liner locks. BM mini barrage is nice, too.

ok guys i think i have narrowed it down to 2..they are both SOGs..leaning towards the SOG trident and like robertl said the SOG Aegis..

think i may go with the trident..anyone else have this blade?

Here are the ones I like most:
Emerson CQC7B-BT (daily carry regardless, it's my heavy duty work knife)
Benchmade 930 Kulgera (smooth as butter)
Benchmade 530 (lightweight bike carry, clip it to my shorts, can't even tell it's there)
Kershaw Leek w/ D2 edge (for something slimmer and less "threatening" to carry in pocket at times)
ZT-301 (for when I know I need to pound on it, and can afford the weight)
Al Mar Hawk w/ honey jigged bone (when a small gentleman's knife is called for)

Owned a couple of SOG knives... weren't too happy with them.... (but that's just a personal preference)

Manix 2 in Foliage Green with CTS-XHP steel has been in my pocket for what feels like ages now. However my Spyderco Paramilitary 2, Small Sebenza Insingo, Spyderco Sage 2 are all still in my ready to go drawer. I have also been carrying a WR Case & Sons Mini Trapper Stag Rancher CV.

I have a desert ironwood large sebenza as my edc. paid through the nose for it but you only live once. I have to say thats it BY FAR the best folder Ive ever held. To the point where I havent bought a folder since cause they all feel cheap comparatively. Im TOTALLY getting an izula folder when it comes out though. Im sure esee will make it top notch

No doubt, that knife is more awesome than anyone will believe. My brother EDC's one as a landscape contractor and abuses the hell out of it. What a great folder for the price (I think $60?). It's slim, good blade to handle ratio, tough and simple. My only complaint is the recurve but it works for him.
He hammers with it, pries with it, even used it to scrape broken glass out of a sliding door frame.
Some day I'll do a write up on it.

As for the OP's question, I'd go with a Delica in that price range.

Yep! I thought about the recurve too, but it turned out to be subtle and not a pain in anyway.

LOL! 60 bucks?? I got mine for 35'ish I think, but then that was almost three years ago. All who've got one sings its praises

If possible try to handle a sog 1st. I have a flash and it is very sloppy with blade play
