I acquired this knife and I am intrigued by it.

I posted in the collectors section here so I'll skip repeating the details:

Now my current plan is to get this back into safe working order and use it for a while, then use it as a basic pattern/inspiration down the line. To do that I feel I need to repair 2 basic problems.

First, the blade is loose with quite a significant wobble.

Second (and maybe related to #1) is has a 1/16" (more or less) gap near the pivot between the brass liner and the locking mechanism.

How do I go about fixing these? I assume if I can get it apart in good order I can straighten out the liner and get the fit tight, and then what, add bronze washers to tighten it up?

Are the bolsters likely soldered to the liner? Pins flared? I'm wondering about tricks to get it apart without splitting scales or enlarging holes unnecessarily.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Well I am just gonna tell it like I read it so please don't take offense . If you have never worked with folders you will probably screw it up for good. My suggestion would be to talk to Tony Bose he is very nice and most importantly he is a EXPERT on folder history and repair. You can probably get him to answer you on the traditional forum of this site. Good luck and keep us posted I for one would like to know how this turns out .
