Folder Size

I feel that the size of the folder isn't quite as important as how it feels in the pocket. A Cold Steel Ti-Lite can disappear in my front pocket if I clip it properly and an Opinel #6 can jab me in the thigh if I'm not careful. I've actually started leaning more towards slipjoints because they tend to have a thinner profile than the Opinel. However, I find that a blade length of 3-4" is good for me. I like to prepare food with my knife if I'm ever feeling lazy to reach for an actual kitchen knife.

I prefer something between 3" and 3 1/2", myself. Whether that's small, medium, or large I will leave up to others. For me, it's "just right".

Since I have fairly large flippers, and spend a fair amount of time working outdoors, I find the "ideal size" between 3-7/8 to 4-1/4". Occasionally, when going out I'll carry a vintage slippy 3 1/4 to 3-1/2'.
