Folder that I can abuse?

First time I’ve posted in this section. Hello All! :)
I’m looking for a folder that I can abuse if need be. In other words, I want it built like a tank yet still very functional for semi-precise cutting. I’m indifferent to the ‘looks’, or ‘aesthetics’ of the folder; albeit, of course looking good is nice. I want a 3” minimum (well, I can live with a 2 7/8” cutting edge) and 4” maximum blade length. I would prefer it to be made from s30v or better stock (no 154cm – I just don’t like the steel) and be .200” + thick. It has to have a ‘heavy-use’ lock rating (whatever the highest is). I don’t want to spend much more than $450 for it.
I was thinking a Strider SnG but I know they can be hit-or-miss (in no way do I mean to bash Strider knives as some of my best and favorite’s are Striders). I was also thinking a CRK Sebbie but I have never had one and I’m not sure if they can take what a SnG can (although definitely prettier and probably more ergonomic). The first knives that came to mind was a SnG & CRK, the second was Spyderco’s :( discontinued Lil’ Temp  in leaf configuration (not that I would care much if it was TP). So I guess the preferred blade-shape would be similar to the leaf.
I know the ZT knives are nice but I’m not too keen on re-curves. But a nice Zero Tolerance is certainly not out of the picture. I would also highly consider a BM 630 or 635 Mini Skirmish.
In a nutshell: tough & not necessarily pretty; 3”-4” high-quality steel leaf-like shaped blade at least .200” thick; titanium frame-lock or better; $200-$450 max. What do you guys think I should get? Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
TIA,
-Joe

How set are you on the .200" blade stock requirement? The reason I ask is that it seems to rule out nearly every production folder in existence; even ones with what most would consider very thick blades (Striders, some ZTs, Three Sisters Forge Beast, TOPS/Buck CSAR-T, etc.) fall below the .200" mark. (CRK folders, at .125", don't even come close.) If you really want a blade that thick on a 3-4" folder, you'll probably have to commission it from a custom maker.

You want a Buck/Strider.

They are solid knives which you can beat on all you want, and you can find a lightly used one for around $50.

I keep one in my glovebox as a beater/loaner.

Cold Steel Spartan. Or get Andrew to make a custom.

The Lionsteel SR-1 sounds about perfect with a 5 mm thick blade which is 0.196". It is a monolithic frame lock meaning the handle is made of one piece of titanium. It also has a "rotoblock" which locks the frame lock in place so it can't accidentally unlock. Also has a replaceable lock bar tip so if it ever wears down and the lock moves all the way across the blade tang or the detent ball wears down it can be replaced making it like new. A near custom quality knife that meets all your requirements.

Extrema Ratio RAO Folder?

Not sure how thick the blade stock is, but you will probably have a heck of a time breaking it. The blade is a bit longer than you specify (at 4.5 inches).

You do realize that "very functional for semi-precise cutting" and ".200” + thick" RARELY describe the same knife, don't you?

I guess you know about the ZT/Hinderer that is now being released?

No, the latest one I saw had a choil that I didn't care for (proto comes to mind though). That sucker looks darn near perfect! My only hold-up to getting one of the nicer ZT's is the blade steel; specifically Elmax steel. It looks like good steel and I don't see Rick using crappy steel and it's powdered steel, right? Thanks a lot for the help, SPXTrader - Thanks to everybody for all the replies. :)
neuron:

I guess it doesn't have to be .200", but for sure not .125". I realize that shuns most production knife campanies but a knife like a Lil' Temp would be perfect for me, IIRC and that couldn't have been .200" thick.

Yes, I don't know how to exactly describe what I want - which is very similar to the Sng. I figured someone would point that out.

The Lionsteel SR-1 looks great too, as does the 755!

What I really want is an XM-18, but that's not realistically gonna happen.

Elmax is a steel Kershaw has been experimenting with for some time now. You can look for it on future high-end models, and it was used on the Speedform, the Blade American Made Knife of the Year for 09. I agree, Rick would not settle for second best, and it is indeed a powdered steel. The pics Scott put up are of the final product, and dam! That is one thick slab of Ti on the lock side. :D

abuse these
crusader forge in 3 & 4 in. as suggested by lycosa.triple tempered s30 which easily outperforms all factory s30 offerings. custom knives in excess of your parameters. however probably the strongest folder in the world.

Dennis - Those are some fantastic looking folders. What are the specs on those? S30V, Ti, Blade Length? OAL? I am impressed.
