Hey Guys...

The spyderco Wave is what I was going to say..

Here in Canada we have twist offs,, however most of the time we just snap the top off by hitting it against the table or something...

I use my closed knife in the same way that people open bottles with a bic lighter. It can scratch scales if done incorrectly, but you learn quick. I also have a utilikey on my keychain (now).

yea, all knives are bottle openers. use the spine of your blade to pry the bottlecap off. it's kind of hard to explain... hold the bottle neck in your hand, then put the spine under the cap lip, then lever the cap off.

mmmmmm-hm. And if scratching your knife bothers you, why not use a key, a rock, a lighter, a pen, a cell-phone*, a pair of scissors, a tape dispenser, a.... :D

* I included a cell-phone in the list, because it's a partial list of items that I've used to open beer bottles. Mmmm, microbrews..... :p

The other recommendations are good for knives, I've got nothing to add regarding folders (note that the Becker Necker has a bottle opener on it for a fixed blade).

If you are looking for a cooler gadget than just a plain old bottle opener to put on your keychain, get an Atwood Prybaby. It scrapes, it pries, its a screwdriver, its a bottle opener. (its also great to rap the knuckles of some scoundrel that tries to take your beer).

The Swiss-tech utili-key is nice to have. Blends in well with normal keys, has a philips, and two standard screw drivers, a decent little blade, and a bottle openner. They don't cost much and you'll never know it's there untill you need it.

Now that I think about it, the blade is pretty shity, but will work if it's all you have.

Those Prybabys are cute, but they can cost more than a damn Waved Delica.

I didn't know that waved Delicas were $35.00. I'm definately getting one. I paid $40.00 for my plain old Delica. How does that "wave" feature work? I shouldn't thread jack. Sorry.

Well... you're half-right. A single Prybaby costs less than a waved Delica. But once you get one, you realize that only one will not suffice. By the time you've bought a couple of Prybabies, you've spent more than you would have on the waved Delica.

You are, however, 100% right that the Prybabies are cute. :)

im supprised that no one has yet mentioned the byrd firebird its seems like THE party knife. its got a little blade a bottle opener and fits a bic lighter

Why would you want to open bottles with an open blade?
After a case, you would have cut fingers or worse.
Me, I used a 1950s wire bottle opener I got from my Grandpa.
Too bad they don't give away openers when you buy beer like they did in old days.

Dude just buy a pair of these sandals with built-in bottle openers on the bottom. They are comfortable and awesome!

Paragon Machine works dedicated Ti opener here. I also like the Park (bike tool) Tool opener, though kinda big. Try the Byrd FireByrd. Cheap, holds a lighter, an opener and a knife blade

Hey everyone, I need some help… I’m looking for a new folder that has a bottle opener. I don’t want to go in the direction of Swiss Army style knives either. I’d like to use the bottle opener feature while the folder is closed too if possible.

Do what I do when I don't feel like pulling out my SAK to open a bottle - I use my wedding ring. My wife doesn't necessarily approve, but I'm stealthy about it!
