?- Folder with D2 blade?

Of the D2 knives I own, I have never had a problem sharpening them to a hair popping level (nozh seems to take it further with hair whittling) nor have I had a problem polishing the edge to a mirror finish. This is with my Kershaw Outcast and my RAT7. Granted they are rather large and not folder but of the same steel. The RAT7 has a reasonable steep angle now at 15 per side and will holds it's edge after a 30 min or so session wood shaving, some batoning, cutting up carpet (was making a cat tower) to a degree that there really seems to be no loss or very very minimal loss is sharpness. It will still shave with ease, it'll still glide through news paper. Hell I hardly ever get to sharpen my D2 knives which I then have to purposely beat on some wood for a while just so I can have a little fun on the DMT, ha.

And for me personally, it is MY super steel. Anything that can hold its edge through my chores without losing it's edge is...super IMO lol. My 154, s30v, aus8, ats-34 and vg-10 cannot do this at the same 15 degree per side. Im a HUGE fan of the D2 as I had awesome results from my versions.

EDIT: The ONLY thing I have noticed was the tearing (maybe a chip, hard to tell) BUT that was my fault as I hit a nail deep into some wood once. It was a deep tear/chip but after some fine file work it less apparent now where you actually have to look for it to see it.
