Want to buy this just once and feel the pain!
Can you recommend a Drill Press under $700 that will give me a true 90deg hole?
Really tired of dealing with the run out on the cheapo drill presses out there

I don't know how soon you need the drill press, but i'd constantly be on the look out for a Burgmaster 0B. I got mine off of craigslist for a 100.00 and it's true and in very good condition.

None iuf you are going to make folders. On the other hand most and even the inexpensive ones are very good but do require that you align the table to be 90 degrees to the drill bit. Not checking this can mean poor holes are made. Frank

i got a HF mini mill and have been happy with it as a great little drill
the + side is that if need be you can also do light milling and mine is R8 so when i get a larger mill i can swap most the tooling

I've got the round colume and make a good drill press, got mine used.

I built a plate that clamps to the table on my drill press, It has adjustment screws that allow me to set the plate at 90 degrees to the spindle, I check it by turning a dial indicator in the chuck and adjust until square, works fine if the chuck has a tight fit and bearing. However, now I use a mill.

Craigslist Score damn nice for $225 with the stand, virtually new.
Will give this a try and a Mill is next if it doesn't work out :DScore 0021.jpg

I've been using a small Jet drill press for folders since 1995, for every hole in over a thousand folders.

Works great! But I did have to aline the table right out of the shoot...

There is not reason why you can't use a four flute end mill in a drill press too. Just saying.
