Up for a look today are 4 very nice folders. The BUCK is a Tarani design that was a trainer professionally converted to a using folder.
First up is the large Kizer frame lock. Milled ti handle slabs, S35VN blade that is 4.25" to the slabs, and the blade end to end is 4.75". It also has micro milled gripping lines through the scalloped out ti slabs. It is big and wide and perfect sharp crisp grinds. Not unlike a handmade knife. Nice gimping that is sharp enough for a good purchase for the thumb. This is model Ki5401A2. You can use the flipper or the thumb studs. The total length is just a c.h. under 10" with 5" of that handle. It requires no wrist flip to open it is that smooth. These knives are a hit here in the U.S. and are made in China. I know some of my brothers and sisters will be turned off by this but this is as fine a production folder as I have ever owned. I paid about 50 bucks more than the asking price a month ago. It is MINTY and another nice feature is that you can actually put your hand in your pocket with the knife in there and not scratch up your hand on the flipper, very nicely dehorned. SOLD AND SHIPPED>
Next is an old CRKT Apache. 4" ats34 blade, ti frame, handle slabs and stellar lockup. It has a very pointy needle sharp splinter picking tip. Some marks on the handle slabs but the blade is clean and extremely sharp. Kind of rare in the large model. I am the original owner and it has sat out next to my computer hence a couple of scratches on the ti slabs, hair line though so they don't show up in pics. SOLD AND SHIPPED
Next is a BUCK Tarani trainer converted to a using knife. Professionally done. ATS34 blade, stellar lock up and is super smooth to open. Not many around. Razor sharp. $90
Last is an EKI CQC7a I bought last year. Used at our cottage/fish camp etc. Extremely small scratches on the blade near the tip left side(2 of them). Sharpened by me very well. Stellar lock up. Some use wear on the clip from carry. $140
I just picked up a Van Heerden Model 7 and frankly I think this just may be the carry knife I"ve been looking for. Yep I said that. Also going to a smaller fixed blade which is different for me too.
So I take pp, and m.o's. Shipping $8.50. I have the boxes except for all except the Tarani. Keepem sharp and looking for a good chute type fixed blade which is the only trade I am looking for at this time. thanks
