Folders; how do you carry?

Well, at least I'm not odd man out, I see a trend!

I don't really care about pocket wear either, pouches for me aren't about protection, but are for placement. My knives get Used, so they get marks whether they are inside or outside the pocket.

I'm the same way, if I'm going to use a knife, it's going to get used.

There are some I want to keep safe, and they stay in a Knife roll or the box they came in.

As my pants wear I look like a guy that carries a knife and I'm carrying a sowbelly, 4 1/4 stockman and a 3 1/2 congress these day as my EDC, with others added as needed.

I keep my pearl scaled slipjoints in a case.

It is, as Vince noted, awfully easy to fumble with it and drop it (not happened yet, the operative word being yet).

Clipped inside Jeans watch pocket or on belt. I can rotate knives in same pouch.

I wear Dickies brand pants and shorts all during the week, including Saturday for work. I have for years. For those of you that don't know Dickies, they are an extremely tough type of work attire. My favorite style of Dickies work pants/shorts are a sort of rip-stop khaki material that is super strong that they just came out with several years back. They have the regular jeans pockets with watch pockets and additional side pockets for cell phones/tools or what have you. I love this style of Dickies slacks and trousers ever since I discovered them because the side pockets accommodate my folding slipjionts and even some of my small fixed blade sheath knives so well, and I have been wearing them in as many colors as I can find ever since..

The side pockets seems to have been conceived by a bona fida knife knut!. They are a bit slender and hold a folding knife perfectly. I typically put large or medium slipjoint pattern in them and never feel them at all during the day!. And since nothing else goes in there like coins, keys, lighters, ect.. then consequently there is nothing to bugger them up. This way I get all the pocket worn effect with none of the chips, cracks, dings and other damage that may occur in a typical pocket, plus I can access the knife in nothing flat time wise.. And yes I carry my MOP scaled knives bareback in there and never worry a lick about it.

In addition to the above, I do enjoy edc'n some knives in buckaroos and sheaths of different sorts from time to time as well. Examples in the following shots.

I am definitely a pouch on my belt guy....

I work in high-tec, and sit at a desk most of the time.
Wear chino or dress pants.
A nice leather pouch on the belt is neat and tidy, and looks like a phone pouch so no one asks.
Easy to get to my knife.

The pouch is for 3 1/2 or less, so it take small trappers, dogleg jacks, medium stockmans.
But it is too small for a Canoe....

I carry more than one knife. None of this minimalist business for me, thank you very much.

Gary Graley made me a nice little belt sheath for a Wiiliam Henry Tom Brown model. (I didn't have to send him the knife because he has one.) It is a perfect fit for my 3-blade Terry Davis slippie.

I do occasionally carry an engraved knife in my pocket, and I worry about the effects on the engraving. So I put it in a leather pouch. OKay, I put it in a knife purse. Okay, I'm a girly-man. Okay, now are y'all happy?

I need coffee. Brewed, black, strong as hell, thank you. I'm not that much of a girly-man.

:D

hey all, i carry my pocket knives in the right front pocket. no keys or spare change or nothing else. just folding pocket knives. if i am hunting or fishing i sometimes carry a sheath knife on the belt at the right hip.
