Folders to Fixed...progression,or coincidence?

not me, i occasionally carry a fixed but am usually happy with a folder, they are a lot easier to deal with daily and the ones i carry (ie emerson custom CQC13, emerson CQC12 or spyderco Ti ATR) offer great locks with little chance of failure.

and i have imho some of the very best FB EDC's around, with excellent sheaths, a polkawski companion, & bud nealy pesh kebz and amoeba, they are imho as good as it gets for an edc FB, & i do occasionally carry one of them, but i just prefer the ease of dealing with a folder.

now i also carry a pistol too, if i couldnt do that i might would try my new mad dog SEAL ATAK2 lol.
 
The legality of carrying a fixed blade or locking blade around here is too problematic.
There is no wilderness that needs fixed blades.
Even when I was in the Army, I needed to keep my fixed blade well under my belt.

So I remain with slippies or small locking folders.
 
I love em all, but I carry both a fixed blade and 2 folders and a Swiss card in my wallet all the time. I carry the Rat3 on my belt, kershaw vapor in my pocket, small swiss army knife and small flashlight around my neck and a Swiss card in my wallet. Knife nut? yes. Prepared? I think so. Will I ever change? not likely.
