I EDC a quality folder all day, every day. I like a fixed blade when I go into the woods.
Most people can certainly get by with a small folder for all their needs, but I think of having a larger fixed blade as having "insurance." You might not ever REALLY need it, but it's nice to have. There might be a good reason that issued "survival" knives are fixed blades.....
If it makes you feel superior that you can survive for weeks in the wilderness with a Vic Classic keychain knife, good for you. Maybe your luck will hold out.
We're all knife nuts here, and it boils down to personal preference. Carry what you want. Buy lots of knives.
