I belive that Boulder's laws are complicated. My understanding is that it is illegal to carry any fixed blade concealed. Legality is one thing--then there's the fact that I may need to use it, and a friction folder is MUCH more sheeple friendly than a fixed blade.
Finally, I did keep one BK13 stock...
Not from my read of the laws. As per chapter 5-1 of the Boulder Revised Code, ""Knife" means any dagger, dirk, knife, or stiletto with a blade over three and one-half inches in length, or any other dangerous instrument capable of inflicting cutting, stabbing, or tearing wounds, but does not include a hunting or fishing knife carried for sports use." There's no distinction between fixed or folding, and the BK13 and other knives with blade smaller than 3.5 inches do not count, legally, as knives. Thus, BRC 5-8-9 ("5-8-9 Carrying a Concealed Weapon. No person shall have a knife or firearm concealed on or about such person's body.") does not apply.
It's not complicated. Firearms law is a little more complicated, but knife law is pretty straightforward, and no different than Colorado law. Always worth actually knowing the law where you live. I don't know who gave you the false impression that there was anything complicated about Boulder law, but, aside from the usual stuff about gravity knives that I didn't include, the aforementioned is the full extent of it. In my experience, sheeple don't find a BK13 threatening in the slightest. YMMV.
Regardless, it looks good, and if you like it, that's the important thing. Just don't let a lack of knowledge of the laws get you in trouble.
