Like a khukri , a cleaver needs substantial mass to work like a cleaver should . Maybe some folders do have the weight , but then few want to carry it .
RAD field cleaver! .. that's what I'm talking about
To be honest it will most likely end up being a safe queen as I understand it's not the most ideal design for EDC .. but I really like the looks of that style of blade.OK. Serious question.
S Scar556 , what do you mean by "just EDC stuff"? Does that mean 99.5% flipping it open and going "wushaa!" or is your primary concern actually using it frequently to cut stuff?
If its the former, there are a ton of things available cheap.
If its the latter, I think, as suggested by @Alberta Ed , the Spyderco Roc is your huckleberry. Or pricey custom.
I take it they are hard to get?Yeah. Good luck and start saving your pennies if you want a real one.![]()
I take it they are hard to get?
Maybe I should reword my original question:
What do you all recommend as an alternative to the RAD Field Cleaver ? And no offense to Spyderco but I'm going to pass on them
$300ish hopefully lessLet's put a price on this thing. How much you want to spend?

My wharny's will probably remain my EDC go-to
Again..what would you spend on a "all style safe queen"?
I've never heard of VDK but it sounds like they are basically WE knives . ... I've heard good things about themThat VDK is good looking.
