Folding cleaver for EDC (alternative to RAD Field Cleaver)

Kizer Sheepdog?

The sheepdog is on my short list ... I just ordered an uprising, it'll be my first Kizer and I'm looking forward to checking out the quality of their products first hand

Like a khukri , a cleaver needs substantial mass to work like a cleaver should . Maybe some folders do have the weight , but then few want to carry it .

They don't. A folding cleaver isn't going to cleave.

But I think (I hope) Scar is looking for something that just looks like (rather than performs like) a cleaver. Trouble Blades, RAD, Rogovets kinda thing.

S Scar556 , what do you mean by "just EDC stuff"? Does that mean 99.5% flipping it open and going "wushaa!" or is your primary concern actually using it frequently to cut stuff?

If its the former, there are a ton of things available cheap.

If its the latter, I think, as suggested by @Alberta Ed , the Spyderco Roc is your huckleberry. Or pricey custom.

To be honest it will most likely end up being a safe queen as I understand it's not the most ideal design for EDC .. but I really like the looks of that style of blade.
My wharny's will probably remain my EDC go-to

I don't know at this point....I'm not fully convinced that there actually is a "real" RAD cleaver after looking around.

Not sure I'd ever carry one but those are some good looking cleavers (thankfully out of my price range).

My first thought was the Spyderco that was mentioned.

The next closest thing I could think of was the Boker Sniper Bladeworks S2. It is mildly "cleaver-esqe" imo.

I've never heard of VDK but it sounds like they are basically WE knives . ... I've heard good things about them

I've never handled a WE but yeah, hear good things. I'm sure the flipping action is very smooth on that cleaver.
I actually bookmarked it for a possible future purchase
