Do you want it to have double-edged blade , or just symmetrical spear-point blade (with one sharp edge)?

I am yet to see a true (read -- "double-edged") folding dagger, apart from custom-made ones. But, if your life is dull and meaningless without second edge, you can get a "normal" folder with relatively thin swedge and sharpen it into a dagger. Just take care to check, that swedge is fully covered by handle when closed -- for safety reasons.

You want OTF folder. Microtech Ultratech or Benchmade Infidel might fit into your price range.

CS triple action folder also. I hear they're not any good though. I had the smaller version of the gerber AF, and sharpened the top edge. It was a decent knife, but I didn't care for the handle. I like those MTs alot.

I can't seem to find a folding dagger with a true double edge within my price range.
I may have to look closer at out-the-fronts.

Can anyone recommend the strongest OTF?

Thanks!

edit: Actually, the Cold Steel Ti-Lite looks like it has a true double edge. Can anyone confirm? Thanks!

I was actually looking into the Troodon with a dagger-style blade.
However the legality of simply owning an Auto is unknown to me right now. I can't imagine Auto's being fully prohibited in Ontario, Canada.. But I don't know.

edit: The AG Russel Folding Sting is very very close to what I'm looking for. I can sharpen the top edge. But the blade is partially exposed in the handle. I like the handle shape a lot, it looks very ergonomic.

In the US, they would be classified as daggers for practical purposes, they would be seen as weapons rather than utility knives. It wouldn't be hard to sharpen the back edge, either.

Certainly, but this applies to any knife with false edge. Besides, it would be really silly to do that, since the top "edge" is exposed even when the knife is closed.

A knife is always sharp and a gun is always loaded. If you're looking to carry a weapon, you take its hazards into account.
