Superb pictures - exactly what I needed. Thank you very much, Bimmer. After looking at those, I think I might want to try the regular Emerson Combat Karambit with a plain edge satin blade.

I'm going to see if I can find one locally to check if my digits will fit in that hole.

You will be lucky if your "digits" fit the hole in that Emerson!!

The satin ones are tough to find as well but there are some out there on occasion.

Let us know what you end up with. If you want an Emerson karambit that will double for both self-defense and daily use then check out the CQC-7 karambit, Bullnose karambit, and Commander karambit.

The Bullnose and CQC-7 karambits are being discontinued but are both excellent.

I'm so going to get flamed here.

But yes I still like my Mantis Knives Kerambit. It's a beefy framelock that is chisel ground with a 2 inch blade. (but then again I like it because I can snap it onto my harness and use it as a linemans knife because the ones made by Klien tools that are around the same price suck badly.)

That and I'm sure that it would hold up in a SD situation too.

hey if ya like it, and ya think its gonna be ok i wont flame ya, i dont care for them myself though.

if i wanted a k'bit (and i dont) i would get a cutters K&T version i prefer the blade angle not being so steep like the taranis and others,

Hey guys, do you know if the hold would be too small for a 10 ring size? :P also, is the ring sturdy enough for strikes as are used with karambit arts or is it not the best idea?
