I am moving to Michigan from Florida sometime within a year, and currently I carry a Zt0350, I'll be in the Lansing area, and I am looking for something that will fit with michigans laws, I know about knives can not be intended to be used against another person, but I mainly carry a knife for utility, and the off chance I need to cut something or free myself from something.

Have a maximum price of 200-300 prefer cheaper but any recommendations would be great.

I've been looking at
Mini Griptilian 555-1
Spyderco Roc C177GP Folding Cleaver, VG-10

My criteria would be at best, less then 3" blade, a liner lock, with flipper, assisted or not. With a sheepsfoot, or cleaver blade shape (blade shape isn't extremely Important though), also not looking tactical in any way possible, even if something doesn't fit the criteria but would fit some of the options let me know please thanks!

Since you already have experience with ZT's I'd recommend the ZT 909. Sub 3" blade, flipper but a Ti frame lock w/ locking insert. Sub $200 as well with s35vn steel.

I've spent almost all of my life in Michigan. I always carry blade that's at least 3.5 inches long sometimes almost 4.0.

As far as I know the law here states that you can't do anything illegal with your knife...3.0 inches. I don't think anyone at work

should/will bother you either.

Just don't branish your knife or take it out just to take it out of your pocket. If it's in your pocket who's going to know how long the blade is ??

Law says can't carry a knife with blade more than 3in with intent to harm. Carry any length blade as a tool. If stopped and asked why you have your knife if you say defense and it's over 3in, dumb move buddy. Tell them it's a tool and you're withing the law.
