Man this makes me really wanna try one but scared ill jump in and be over my head lol

I'm currently putting together spec for a folder design I've been working on. Be awhile before I get started since I got a couple knives in the hopper already, but I'm looking forward to it.
I'll be following your thread, interesting project!

img1724qfk.jpg

all of those wheels and still not done with one liner yet lol i know that there are probably better ways to do this but this is what i got for now :D

no pics yet but i have cut the ti liners out and i am having a lot of trouble grinding them to shape because they heat up so fast. have to keep cooling it every 2-3 secs  but i will get there and will have pics soon :D

Put some ice in your dipping water. Will help buy you a little time grinding. Plus after a few dips your water starts to heat up unless your using a big bucket etc.

i have a very important question!!!!!!!

the pivot hole on the blade, i drilled it out smaller than what the hole needs to be because i know that during the heat treat the hole is going to shrink or expand a little, my question is which is it? will it expand or shrink? do i have to get a carbid drill bit and just drill it after wards or can i go one size up or one size down on the drill bits and be fine with sanding it out a little. the hole is supposed to be a 1/4" hole.

thanks for any advice:D

o yeah this is my first folder so i am kind of oblivious just kind of improvising on some things :D but taking my time

The hole should be drilled to fit perfectly with the pivot before HT, don't worry about it changing size, it won't.

i have resently changed my heat treat for this knife for those of you that were following that lol.

but i am doing a lot of stuff lately also so i will only be able to work on this project every so often but when i do i will post pics :)

also because of the resent change in heat treat i need to get some more materials so that is going to hold me back a little to :( but ill get there lol
