I grew up being told fixed blade full tang knives were stronger and it makes sense
But I have never had a folder fail and I like to believe I use my knives every day and use them hard
Does any one have an example of a folder failing where a fixed blade would not ?
Ps I love fixed blade and have a ton
I haven’t seen any but I’m sure if there was it would be a triad lock vs a cheaply made rat tang which wasn’t properly hardened. If you intend those kinds of forces on a knife, make sure it is full width tang, properly heat treated, and an appropriate steel, like 5160, or 3v.
