folding saw

the Gerber/Fiskars Sportsman saw @ $12 and 3 oz is pretty nice for pack carry, you're not going to be able to build a cabin w/ it, but for building a debris or lean-to shelter and processing small wood for a fire- it works pretty darn good
 
Silky, end of story.
I am an Arborist and use my handsaw daily. I carry the Zubat with me, and have had the same saw, changed the blades 2 or 3 times now, for 5 years. Use one and you'll know why.
 
I will add another vote for the Gerber. I have seen it go through some decent sized stuff pretty quick.
 
Silky does pretty well...

In my opinion, a saw should be used in conjunction with an axe or hatchet. The best set up for wood processing is a saw for sectioning, a well chosen axe or hatchet for splitting and/or felling if you need to, and of course a good knife for the detail stuff and everything else.
