I was looking for a small lightweight saw for the backpack.
Checked out a bunch. Didn't like too many.
Was in Loews getting more stuff for the Barn and found this.

A Corona 10". Nice little saw for under $20.

Replaceable blades. Easy to do. Simple screw and nut set in the back handle
(similar to Beckers)

It's pouring rain here right now, But I HAD to try it (LOL) Cuts great !

Just one note - the angle of the blade matters a lot when cutting. Angle down in front and it's as good as any hand saw. (gotta' love brand new blades)

For $20 - great deal.

Thanks for the review. The same brand has a machete at lowes too. Not sure how that does, has a sawback I believe which is kind of a bummer. Plus no sheath.

Did they have the replacement blades at the store?

We were in a bit of a rush (as usual) didn't notice if they had the blades. Sorry.

What surprised me about this one was how tight it is. Serious. The others I looked at (fiskars etc. were absolute junk)

This locks up tight, cuts great.

Nice score. I've been looking for something between a fiskars and a bow saw. Looks like that's the ticket and I'll be heading for Lowes. Thanks for the heads up.

That is a surprise lol, first thing I thought when i saw them is that they had to be bad. Good to know though. Looks comfy too.

Good handle. Big enough for two handed cutting easy.

Not too often I'm pleasently surprised these days, this was one of them.

I just got that same one myself...I haven't had a chance to use mine yet. I'm glad that you think it's a great saw. I can't wait to get out and try it out

There ya go.

I'm sure for $100's there are better saws.

But I checked out a bunch and for the dough - best one I found.

Plus, no shipping, no waiting ... bing! Done. (LOL)

Getting about 4" of rain here right now (sucks!) Get out tomm. and give it a real test.

I agree 100%. I got one a few weeks ago and it cuts great, plus you can get replacement blades at Lowe's, too.

Not bad looking, huge comfy handle. The Bahco Laplander kicks ass and is in the the price range, its feather-light, sandvik steel, replaceable blades, and is recommended by Ray Mears for whatever thats worth to you.

I've been hearing/reading good things about that one too.

This was right in front of me. Grabbed it.

Wife actually commented on it not taking an "act of congress" to buy a knife (lol) Saw in this case :D

i have one of those. watch out for the little screw that holds it in place. i used mine to its fullest, it does saw very well, but has its limits.

i used it on a tree in the front yard, took off lots of very big limbs.

Saweeet. I've been looking at different fold saws online trying to decide which one I like better. I'll have to see if Home Depot has anything similar after work one of these days. For whatever reason (probably the fact that I'm a big dummy haha) I never even thought about checking there.

i think i've established for myself the utltimate folding saw is the silky bigboy...

the fiskars folding model i have from back when they were made in Finland ;) is still AWESOME...

don't forget to always pickup a spare blade, you'll need it sooner or later, and you don't want to need it at 1am when the store is closed (or more miles away than you're willing to drive - IF you can drive); i'm putting the silk in the car to replace the limbing saw i keep there ;)

It's funny, I was reading some other posts about saws and someone mentioned just a simple small carpenters saw from Home depot. So I've been checking places I go, HD, Walmart, Tractor Supply, Southern States, etc.
Bow saw, drywall saws, yada, yada, yada, ...

Had seen this one mentioned in other threads and there it was ... Loews.

Home Depot has the Fiskars (sucks) sorry but it was really bad.

Anyway ... lot to do about nothing ... a $20 saw

But, the world as we know it, is right again (LOL)

Silky is getting a lot of good ink too.

Sometimes ya just gotta' make a decision (you know)

Like I said, lot to do about nothing (chuckle)

Good review. I bought a Corona at Lowe's not long ago. Nice saw.
About to purchase a Bahco Laplander and give it a try.

I would also recommend buying a Sawvivor. I have one, and its great! Really light, cuts great, folds nice, stores extra blades. What more could you ask for?

Great price for a great tool. It makes the work, so you don´t need to spend 100USD
