My favourite Spydie is the G10 Calypso Jr.

Are there any plans to make a foliage green Calypso Jr? There's the flat ground Endura (too big for me), and the flat ground Delica (don't like the blade shape) in foliage green, but are there any plans for a Foliage Green Calypso Jr? I would hold back on any purchases if there are going to be plans to purchase any spydies (except for the Lum Chinese) if there are plans for a foliage green Calypso Jr.


Also, are there any plans for any reverse-S blades in any upcoming Spyderco models?
 
Where did you find a G-10 Calypso Jr.? I've seen them in black, gray and burgundy FRN, in Stainless and in black Micarta, but never in G-10.

I seem to recall Sal once saying that the Caly Jr. had run its course, been replaced by the Caly3 and would not likely be coming back again.
 
I'd love it if the Calypso jr. was made again, but I would prefer an FRN handle to keep it cheaper. In zdp-189 again, or VG-10.

did the calypso jr. with FRN handles have steel liners, or no liners.
 
No liners. It was a one-piece molded handle. I love the lightweight knives. The FRN was okay, but I really like the black Micarta. I wish I could get the Micarta Caly Jr. in VG-10 to match my big Calypso.
 
I meant the Caly 3, sorry. I always equate Caly 3 = Calypso Jr.
 
Sad to hear they won't produce the burgundy Calypso Jnr. in ZDP again.
That would come close to being my favourite Spyderco, that and the Native.


Ahhh well, all good things come to an end I guess. :(

AH! Well, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of seeing the Caly3 in foliage green or orange or whatever color Sal decides on next.;)
 
I never did manage to get a burgundy ZDP caly jr. It was this failure that led me to get 4 black caly jr's in zdp ( and 1 in VG10), 4 blue delicas in ZDP, 4 jess horns in ZDP, and 1 caly 3 in ZDP ( and 1 in VG10)

With the others I ordered at multiple places and took the orders rather than cause any bad feelings from not taking what I preordered. I have enough ZDP to last me a lifetime :) .

To be honest with you whoever did the sharpening on my caly jr. ZDP's is a wizard with the equipment. They are easily sharper than the throwaway razors I shave with. They rate up there with, and out do some very expensive knives. Joe
 
If you can live without the lock, it already exists. The FG UKPK. Even though you were talking about the C3 I would love to see a Forest Green FRN Caly Jr in VG10. Probably would not be that expensive either.

the lock is all important.....

hoping that Sal will do a run of Caly 3 in FG....that will be a sure buy for me! VG10, non of that soft 420/ZDP laminate thing. the 420 scratches when you stare at it....!
