Well the dark gray finish didn't last long...

Here is what a scotch-brite pad (or similar), Ballistol, and about 10 minutes of hand rubbing will do :D

Wow...that was easy. I was expecting lots of elbow grease to get the decarb off for some reason. I wonder how much work it would take to get it closer to a satin finish?

I agree with Bladerunner... bluing would look sweet. Getting ideas in my head now.

Thanks for a great post!

Thanks for a great post!

The blueing is a great look, there was a thread on here when I first turned up that had some pics of a blued tglb, it looked perfectly worn in. It gave me some ideas but I love competition finish to much. Shiny infi just gets me... Deep down

I might try blueing later on. I'm really liking this competition style finish. It would be easy enough to remove the blueing if I didn't like it. Hmmm. I do agree about the shinny infi though!

Rickshooter, please post some pics when you get it finished

That little extra work really paid off! Very nice! :D

Hmmm, I've got WD40 and some scotchbrite pads as well. Rat Mastiff has been wanting a rub down.

WOW! That looks great! after removing the dark grey it sure looks the part of one bad mofo!

Now... do I have the nads to do it to a Busse... Maybe! Probably not! haha
