Follow the leader

Task #2
Easy just make a one stick fire. Using only one stick get your tinder, kindling & fuel.
This is useful when it might be wet out, you can split the wood to get to the dry inner wood. Also it is good practice splitting & making shavings. I know we just make shavings. Promise last time.
It looks like Tankerwolf did this in the last task so he can pass if he wants.

Next week I have something the bigger knives might like.

So far everything has been quick & easy. This one might take a little longer, Next weeks I think will also.
Still this one should be easy as least for the bigger knives.
Chop /cut through a branch / tree too large to break. I am not one to just chop down a tree for no reason most of what I use is dead fall. This was standing dead & it is for a project I am working on. You might save what you cut it might be used latter. Like in two weeks.

Time to get out & have some fun.

i know i'm behind in even starting this challenge at all, but c'mon. No need to punish the little guys.

Not as much interest as I thought, No matter I have already done the "work" so I will keep posting em.
This weeks task is geared for the little knives more.
Make a Mors Kochanski’s try stick. a good way to test your knife & skill.

If I can do this with my 4 it should be easy for any of the smaller Beckers.

Come on lets see what you got.

Yeah sorry mate been flat out with work and kids parties on the weekend. Seems when your youngster starts school everyone seems to turn 5 and has a party almost every other weekend, unbelievable! Awesome concept and post.

Even this weekend I'm snookered, we have ANZAC day on Saturday and yes a kids party Sunday, personally I'd rather paper cut between my fingers and swim across the ganji river.

I think the interest is there, but (at least for me) timing sucks. Work sucks up the weekdays, and Scouts takes away anytime on the weekends.

I know all about life taking up all the free time.
No time limit or anything, just looking forward to how people go about different tasks when only one blade can be used.
I am not in school but I have a job ( not one I like ) and kids, one in scouts, going to do his Eagle project in about two weeks.
I will have a new one up Tuesday.

This weeks task is Make something useful in camp. A chair, Billy pot tripod, table, shelter. Whatever you want. Might have to do some lashing.
I made a chair & hunting blind.

The chair has been in use by my fire pit for the past 3 weeks. Turned out better then I thought it would.

The blind looks like little more then a brush pile but that's kind of the point.

OK, A day late. Here is the last one. At least for a wile
Make a bow drill set & give it a try.

This shouldn't be hard for any size knife

This was fun at least for me.
If you still want to post your work from the past tasks I would like to see it.
