Folts Minimalist Bowie or Boker Pocket Bowie: which would you pick - help me decide!

I want a new pocketable edc fixed blade and I think I have narrowed it down to either CRKT's Folts Minimalist (the Bowie blade version) or Boker's Pocket Bowie. My requirements are that the knife must have a fine point and must fit in a KSF Adirondack pocket sheath, and these two fit the bill.

Does anyone have either of these - or better yet - both? What can you tell me?

Of course, I fully expect to receive other suggestions too, which is fine. ;)

I don't have the CRKT but I do have the Boker Pocket bowie and really like it alot. It's small (obviously) strong and I can get it VERY sharp:thumbup::D I tweaked the sheath for pocket clip carry

I did this to my Izula II sheath as well

Can you elaborate on that? What makes it better?

the pocket bowie can handle a wider variety of task and is very much more comfortable in hand. its a little bit heavier but if you dont plan on wearing it around your neck it shouldnt be a problem. i bought my fiance both and she carries the pocket bowie with a teklok on her belt. the minimalist is a neat knife but its its "mehhhhh" in the bowie configuration. i wish i went with the wharncliffe which i can myself using it more for everyday task.

Another vote for the Boker P.B.

I love mine , put a little loop of paracord big enough to slip two , three fingers thru for added control - if you need it - and it's good to go.

Nicely done , small fixed blade. There were some minor cosmetic issues on some of them but for $20 I ain't trippin.

paulhilborn! Do you mind telling us where you got those very cool little pocket clips? I'd love to get some of those!!!

I own a minimalist bowie, and it doesn't keep an edge very well. It's very rust and stain resistant, and fits in my hand well, but if I were to be making the choice again I'd go with the Boker.

I think I'll go ahead and order the Boker. It looks great and practical, and like it ought to fit my KSF sheath.

. . . unless anyone can suggest any other sub-$100 contenders?

I have both.

I've been carrying the Pocket Bowie daily as neck knife. It's a little heavier than a couple of other neckers I've used in last couple years, but after a day or so don't really notice it.

I mainly wear a necker for (urban) SD extra option, and really the Minimalist would be as good (although the Wharncliffe would be more effective than the Bowie in the CRKT line). If you're really going to use the thing for utility, the Boker is far and away better, much thicker blade, better grip for forceful work, etc. I may switch to the Minimalist but for now I just really really like necking the Boker from aesthetic viewpoint as much as any other reason.

if Bowie blades are your thing, then that's cool, but the Esee Izula (I prefer the first Izula, not the Izula II, since the 1st is smaller.) is absolutely the best handling and useable tiny fixed EDC blade, ever.

PAUL, did you make the mounting bracket you used to attach the clip to the izula sheath from scratch?\

NVM, got your email. thanks for the quick response!

I ordered the Boker. While I was at it, I also ordered a Vic Spirit X to replace my regular Spirit (which doesn't really need replacing, if I am being totally honest).
