FOOD: Campfire Cooking !

..................
Another simple breakfast is pre-made omelets. Everybody makes their own in a Ziploc: Eggs, shredded cheese, ham, mushrooms, green/red peppers, salt and pepper. They to are frozen the night before we head out and by the first morning, they've thawed enough to drop into a pot of boiling water...Ziploc and all, and after a few minutes, they are ready to go!................
ROCK6

Excellent Idea! I will probably give this a try....This thread has actually gave me a few ideas....awesome posts guys

First grab some ramps

Chop them all up

Take a pot and put 3 rocks in it then water and put the ramps on a plate with butter and set on the rocks. Put the lid on untill it's boiling:

Once it's boiling lift the ramps up and put macaroni in the water and put the lid back on.

When the pasta is cooked, drain it and then stir in the ramps, some cheddar cheese, and I like salt and pepper.

RAMP-A-RONI the WV TREAT;)

Note, use ZIPLOC BRAND!!! Do not get a cheaper brand of ziploc bags, they will melt... we had 30 very hungry pissed off people on the river one trip after everyones' bags melted in the kettle.

Hope you use some good smooth rocks with no grit in them! Looks good, though!

Funny you say that. I did get smooth rocks and rinsed them off. But still was fully expecting at least a LITTLE grit. But turned out great. No grit.

Course they were frozen ones buddy, I'm too busy drinking beer in the evening to make burgers from scratch !!!:D

You have good taste, mon frere, in both beer and blades. :D
Have you tried the white with an orange slice? Goes with it like corona and lime.
I like Rickards white best but Keiths makes a damn good one too.

I'm always fond of steak but...

...I have become a huge fan of Portabello Mushrooms.

After brushing the 'shrooms with olive oil and then grilling, I cut off the stems and chopped them finely, added them to a mixture of crab that SWMBO had recently caught, chopped green onions, bay shrimp and a touch of mayonnaise. Then back on the grill they went. Dang they were good.
Soon the grill will look like this again...

Very yummie. I grill Portabello's as well, and I really like using Italian or Balsamic Vinaigrette salad dressing as the coating so they don't stick to the grill.
