Food For Thought?

Yea, things have been crazy lately. I have been getting into another hobby over the past 6 to 8 months, and only had time to hang out in one forum. Good to see you again Josiah.

It's always nice having you around Walter. I hope you're enjoying your new hobby.

Nice write up as always Mist, and your pictures always amaze.

Thank you sir, glad you enjoyed the post! Man, where have you been, we haven't seen you around in a while, unless I've just missed you since I have been really busy myself....

Most of my remote travels have been vehicle based and weight wasn't as important as it is when on foot. For the last two decades or so, I have been using a Surefire T-655 torch head with MAPP gas for fire starting duties it is always in the kit for field repairs on the vehicles and in my experience it is unsurpassed for starting a camp fire in wet conditions. There is always a bic or two as well as match safes, ferro rods and p38's just in case. Right tool for the job as it were. However, I wouldn't hesitate to use the spine of my field knife (or blade for that matter) if the need presented itself.

Been very busy at work with a bunch of travel. That and I started a new hobby. I did not have the time (nor the money) to hang out in more than one forum over the past six to eight months. I checked in from time to time to see what was happening. Had a new grand baby boy born in March as well, so him and his then 17 month old brother have kept mom, dad and all grandparents pretty busy.

I'm a big fan of lighters like the Numyth Tohil. They don't let the fuel evaporate like a Zippo will, are refillable, and generally a lot tougher than a Bic.
