foolish to wear a bk2 in a spec ops sheath as a edc?

People are pretty scared these days so i try not to do anything that may make them more nervous. Just no reason for that.

For actual everyday carry, a folder works just fine for most people. To me a fixed blade is more of a certain task carry. If you need a fixed blade for something specific, then id only carry on the days you have that chore. Its better to carry it then to not have the tool for the job. For awhile i actually kept my bk2 in my truck so thats another possibility.

All in all i find bk11, 14, and 24 are a nice size for most things when in civilization. If you live in a farming town then it may be more acceptable.

I think knives may scare more people than guns(thank you hollywood). A knife labels you as a threat. A gun only seems to label you as a threat to a bad guy.

Really depends on where you live. In my small town no one would bat an eye with either a gun or knife open carried. In rural areas people do what they want and what works for them. I'm about ready to get on the tractor for a few hours and thinking about what I'm going to strap on, I'll probably just put an SR22 in my pocket and a Ka-bar on my belt. Coyote pop is low right now so the bunnies are thick, the berry vines are gettin' long so will probably need to whack a few from the seat.

Nope. Others have before you. One managed to use one to break into his car after locking the keys inside while in a rough part of town.

i don't own a 2, but have gifted a couple, and played with them plenty. i think it'd be too heavy for an edc. great truck knife, or throw it in your pack or man purse, but i wouldn't want it on my belt all day every day. you'll throw your hips out of alignment and be in trouble when you're older (not actual medical advice).
my 11 is a good size (for me), however, as others have mentioned, small fixed blades get weirder looks than big folders.
fyi, i edc a spyderco police, bk11 and victorianox camper. my shorts are a bit heavier than some, but it's all balanced out.

hope you get something figured out. stay safe!

I get less weird looks with my black BK14 with black zytel handles than a pointy or shiny folder or one that makes a sound as it snaps open.

Only time that's not the case, is when I preface opening my Electrician with "let me use my Swiss Army knife".....

I tend to Palm the BK-14 and place my index finger along the blade, which makes it somewhat dissapear in my hand.

I literally comfortably wear it with a suit, shorts, jeans, etc in a pocket sheath every day.

The other knife I'd put in a similar category but with a shorter blade length is the Esee CR 2.5

Inexpensive, tested, carbon steel production knives you can carry daily, beat on, will do every EDC task just fine and if your life depended on it, could get you out of trouble.

Agreed, the jewels have always been at 12 for me and mine. I didn't know if different parts of the globe did it backwards. Like the toilet flushing the opposite direction in the southern hemisphere or coke V.s. new coke.
