Will I hadn't noticed that & I watched it 4-5 times, but now that you mention it, I see it. He must have ape arms!

Jason.... have you met Charlie? Knifemaking keeps him in the doghouse. He's already got the shop of someone that's been smithing for 977797834 years and he collects anvils. He's got a pretty wife that's very, very, very patient, even for maker's wife.

I always look at people's set-ups to see how they do something differently than I do, just looking for ways to improve.

Nice one. Fella looks to be a hoot too.

I make the cut blank riveted ones with my high school students. They struggle getting the rivet stem necked down without breaking it off. Using a hardy to off-set those petal pinch points would really drive them nuts! We haven't done any forge welding yet. Too bad the Bentley demonstrator didn't go into that more. I've always thought a good way would be to forge a leaf right on the opposite end of the rose's stem then fold it back over onto the stem. One of these days we're going to try it.

Thanks for posting this!

Fletch, borax acts as a flux to clean the surfaces that are being welded.

Since I'm already making my girlfriend a pure silver ring with 1.13ct sapphire; I'll only need to make a dozen of these to get out of the dog house. :o
