for all the nessmuk lovers!

Great thread. There are some excellent nessies here!

I'll add two Nessmukish knives of my own. The top knife in the first pic is a Grohmann DH Russell No. 4, with padauk handles. It always struck me as Nessmuk-inspired. The knife in the lower pic is my JK ACEK, which itself was somewhat inspired by the Grohmann. Both have the raised hump and flowing shape of a nessie.

Here's my Koster. No action pics because I haven't used it yet. It is a user, not a safe queen or anything. I just haven't thrown it into rotation yet.

This is a pic of my Koster Shortness. Won it in a contest last year.

Its a nice knife, but It's just not my style so i'll probably sell or trade it one of these days. It did'nt come with a sheath and I'm too lazy to make or have one made for it so I hav'nt used it.

Defensive much? :D Nice knife.

Well when you have to flash the beauty pics originally used to sell the knife instead of some good hard use pics, it reminds you of how ashamed you should be to have a knife like that and not have used it at all. :o

Here's my only Muk - a scrap yard. I'm eying one of the Kosters, but there are so many great interpretations of the muk out there that it's hard to decide between them.

The SY Muk is awesome - except for the choil. A muk with a giant finger choil is odd IMHO, but since the Busse family insists on putting their "trademark" features on all knives, I'm stuck with it. The mudder handles are awesome on a knife this size, and if it was choil-free it would be in the running to be my go-to woods blade.

Small Norlund Double bit. If you look close at the center of the head you can read "genuine Norlund"

Since my search-fu was weak and I couldn't find the Show your newest knife thread I decided to bring this one back up instead. I've been waiting a long time to post this knife....I got on the list in Feb '08 and it arrived last week. It was a long wait but well worth it. :D

It's an Ariel Salaverria Nessmuk in 1/8" San Mai damascus (1010/1070 with a 5160 core) with mokume (brass/copper) bolsters. It's almost too pretty to use....almost.....

Being Nessmuk was a poor old wilderness tramp, I'm guessing today he'd be carrying the $14 Mora knife, not some several hundred dollar custom ornate blade. Beatiful pieces though.
