For anyone who EDC'ed with a pacific salt

You see that's why I want the black one it might scratch less

That is probably some solid logic, but I have kind of turned the corner on black on black knives. I am starting to enjoy polished or satin blades and bright colors on handles. It seems to sit well with the locals and is really helpful when visibility counts (ever drop a knife?).

I will also add that I used to fear scratches, but now view that differently too. Scratches show me that the job is more important than the tool...this is perhaps a macho concept, but it works for me at the moment.

Finally, I will say that while H-1 does scratch, it also polishes VERY easily. If scratches bother you, it is not overly difficult to buff out scratches and then with some fine grit media put a satin finish back on...or leave it bright.

My experience regarding durability of finish on Spyderco black coated blades is very positive. The DLC finish on the S30V is incredibly tough. The Black Salt has carbonitride...unfortunately, I do not know if that is the same coating or how it compares to DLC.

Scratches aren't that bad for me I am looking forward to my Becker bk2 carrying many battle scars as long as there not to deep
