And just cos it was handy I threw my MOD 4 into the mix ( looks like I tempered the end but it's just the light )...

Damn, those scrapyard knives are so thick.

I'd like to hear your comparison of the TAK and Mutt on some different bush tasks.

one thing to consider on the bush craft testing, you have 1095 carbon vs. sr101(I think)and right from the get go you have pro's and cons and the list runs ,tthe Tak is a better slicer and more control cutting and the mutt is a brute in ever form it does slice but like cutting fruit & veggies, Tak hands down....but ripping a sapling tree down to size in no time the mutt. depends on the test, like a true knife feind...just buy both & have fun....but wait for the RC-4.....

The dumpster mutt is SR77 and is a beast of a knife with an exceptional heat treat. I don't own a TAK so can't comment on it. Love what you've done to the handle on your dumpster mutt pitdog :)

I've had both, TAK and DM and soon DM-Mod "SharkMutt" (no real name so it's what I call it) which is a mutt with serrations and they are all excellent blades that you trust and feel can do any job. Pitdog has shown us that over and over! did you get a DM-mod Pitman?

Yes the Dark side ,my wife got it for me for Xmas.... Great knife...the serration are not as sharp as the blade itself but the last notch close to the grip will be used soley as a strike area for the firesteel,I coupled it with a spec-ops green survival sheath...

Man, I'm dying to mod that TAK thingie.

Man that DM is thick! I guess if you thin the edge out on the DM it would be a good slicer then. I didn't realize that the TAK was that big!

The DM LE, while more expensive, combines the toughness of the DM and the cutting ability of the TAK (its thinner and full flat grind, not sabre).

My next knife is a perfect compromise !!!:D

So ... don't leave us hanging, what is it going to be? (I don't know if it will be the perfect compromise but my next shot at it will be the RAT Cutlery RC4, I think).
