Rough finished it and put on a shaving sharp convex edge. As you'd expect from a 1/4" beast like this, that's basically FFG, chopping is pretty darn easy. Lops off giant chunks of plywood with the flick of a wrist, particularly if you're hitting at the sweet spot. Does seem to have a tendency to bind up a little, however, if I chop really hard, because it gets about 4-5 inches deep. I'm thinking I'll make up a leather sheath for it, and then get a passaround going.



However, having been the victim of a certain former Beckerhead in the past, I'm going to stipulate that you only get on the list if a mod or long-standing member (Derek, Fal'er, the Cap, etc), will vouch for you. Would rather not have this blade go missing, after all.

Excellent work, CF! Choils are good, especially on big blades. I'm a fan of that decision.

dopenerd, I don't copy Ethan's designs for sale. I'm not even sure this one will get sold, because it uses the Becker handle. If Uncle Ethan wants to produce these, he's more than welcome to, but if I were going to do a machete of the BK6 style, it would use my own handle design.

I don't want to ask for a deposit because then it's not really a passaround. But yeah, a former 'Head walked off with a gladius prototype and about 500 dollars worth of my other knives that I had sent him for kydex work, along with the payment for said work. So I'm a little paranoid about sending things out on my dollar to people I don't know these days.
