For EDC is a Ritter Griptillian, or Ritter Mini Griptillian?

If I buy one, I'll be transitioning from a Kershaw Leek to one or the other, which is better for general EDC on a farm?

Both are great, comes down to size. I would go with the mini. Great edc size IMO.

The Mini will feel closer to the Leek in size but for farm tasks you might find the full sized more useful. The Mini can definitely do the work it is built pretty solid.

Mini for sure. Get a bright colored one, much easier to locate and less "spooky" to sheeple. Love my yellow.

I would get the full size. It is in no way too big for edc. For farm use I would look at the Cabelas Griptilian with the D2 tool steel blade.

Thanks for the answers. For bigger jobs I usually have a small fixed blade on me along with the Leek, so I might go for the Mini.

Personally, I'd get the full sized version. I have a mini, but I find it to be too small for my needs.
You'll be happy you have that extra blade length, trust me.

FYI
There is also an M390 version if you look around, you should consider it.

It is a size preference thing. For me it would be the full sized. And yes, the M390 version from KnifeWorks for sure.

I too prefer the full size. I got the mini and it was just too small for my hands. I like the blade length, but the width just wasn't there. However, the mini is a lot closer to the leeks size, if that's your style.

Weight isn't really the problem, price is. I'm cheap.

Well if price is the issue there are much more economic options. Utilitac II for example. Cuts way above it's pay grade. Then again, I think the Ritter full sized grip from KW with 390 is a great deal for what you get.

I have the yellow 556, and the handle material gets dirty very easily. I don't mind, but some might. I might go with the larger size if I were doing it over again, and I'd certainly not get the thumb studs. I'd go with the sheep-foot blade with the hole instead. Some may disagree, however, I think the handle on the 556 needs a little more weight to balance it. It's almost too light feeling.

If price is a determining factor, and the size of the mini-grip is ideal, I might suggest going with a Delica instead. :D

Coming from a big guy with big hands that generally prefers the bigger knives; I have gotten used to carrying a Ritter Mini-Grip and I have to say that for me it works really well in an EDC role.

The mini-Ritter is absolutely a sweet knife for edc. I live and work a farm, hunt, etc., and when I'm doing stuff in that setting, I carry the full Grip clipped in my pocket and the mini loose in my front pocket. For heavier use needs, I find the full size more up to task. You can't lose with either though.

Ten dollar price difference between the mini ritter m390 and the regular size ritter m390. I have and like both sizes, but the regular size is more appropriate for outdoors work. Orange or black handles. It s agreat work knife and may replace your fixed blade.

I have uses for both 3 and 3.5 inch blades in my rotation but in the Griptilian platform, Im a big fan of the mini. Its along with my top favorite users at 3 inches. The Reg is awesome too but I prefer it with aftermarket scales.

Sooo get both. Even if you prefer the Reg, the mini can serve as a home, desk and work knife and end up being used everyday anyway.
