For EDC is a Ritter Griptillian, or Ritter Mini Griptillian?

I have uses for both 3 and 3.5 inch blades in my rotation but in the Griptilian platform, Im a big fan of the mini. Its along with my top favorite users at 3 inches. The Reg is awesome too but I prefer it with aftermarket scales.

Sooo get both. Even if you prefer the Reg, the mini can serve as a home, desk and work knife and end up being used everyday anyway.
I agree. Even though the the regular size may be more suited for outdoor work, the mini is a fine knife for most routine edc tasks.

It depends on your preference, laws, etc. The mini will be a smoother transition as others have pointed out, but who knows you may like the full size one better, especially if you have larger hands. If you were going to conceal carry it in the city, personally I'd go with the mini.

I don't really care much about concealability, just utility. Also, is the regular Grip a good knife for skinning? I don't do much skinning but it would be a plus if it's a good skinner.

Mini is a great EDC and my preference. I can carry it regardless of what I'm wearing and it doesn't feel bulky. The full size can be a bit much in lightweight apparel.

Ooh, a question that's relevant to me! I lived on a vegetable farm for most of my life. One of my first "real" knives was a standard Leek, which I quickly found to be a great slicer, but entirely too thin and pointy for regular outdoor use, especially with that thin tip. The Random version with G10 scales and a reverse tanto blade proved much more useful, as the tip was much stronger and the handle was much easier to grip, which was a big issue with the slick scales of the plain Leeks. That said, while I do love the Random design, I recently picked up a Ritter Mini Griptilian and it's largely edged out the Leek as my daily use knife. While I think the Leek sits better in hand, especially compared to the mini, the high flat grind on the Ritter has proved to be a superior slicer and it's just a much more robust blade overall. While I'm less of a fan of the Axis lock due to its tendency to get gunked up very quickly, I found it could be easily cleaned with a quick spraydown from one of our washer hoses. I would definitely look into the fullsize Ritter in M390- the stainless properties are great and the fullsize handle provides a much better grip. Get it in orange and it'll be very hard to forget.

I wish the Mini was available when we had our farm. I would get it in a bright color in case you set it down, forget it stuck in a post, or drop it in the mud. The full sized Grip would be a good choice, too.

Having owned a ritter mini grip i would go with the full size. I loved the mini but when it came down to it, I just wouldn't EDC it without a bigger knife on me as well. Personally I would get the full size because I imagine the extra blade length won't hurt. as for an earlier member's suggestion regarding a D2 model, unless it's coated D2 I would disagree with that. D2 will be more rust prone and to my knowledge would be a little more brittle than an s30v blade(D2 however is a great steel). My advice is to go s30v ritter, or find an m390 and i dont think those will dissapoint, alternatively depending on you're environment if its humid, wet or you don't want to baby the knife, a coated H20 grip in N680 (or the older version in X15TN) might be good.
