Ooh, a question that's relevant to me! I lived on a vegetable farm for most of my life. One of my first "real" knives was a standard Leek, which I quickly found to be a great slicer, but entirely too thin and pointy for regular outdoor use, especially with that thin tip. The Random version with G10 scales and a reverse tanto blade proved much more useful, as the tip was much stronger and the handle was much easier to grip, which was a big issue with the slick scales of the plain Leeks. That said, while I do love the Random design, I recently picked up a Ritter Mini Griptilian and it's largely edged out the Leek as my daily use knife. While I think the Leek sits better in hand, especially compared to the mini, the high flat grind on the Ritter has proved to be a superior slicer and it's just a much more robust blade overall. While I'm less of a fan of the Axis lock due to its tendency to get gunked up very quickly, I found it could be easily cleaned with a quick spraydown from one of our washer hoses. I would definitely look into the fullsize Ritter in M390- the stainless properties are great and the fullsize handle provides a much better grip. Get it in orange and it'll be very hard to forget.
