For education purposes only...

My understanding is that the Nemo and Frontiersman were the exact same knife except for the sheath.
The end of the blade looks odd to me on this one. Hopefully one of the more knowledgable will wade in.

AS DesotoSky said the Nemo and Frontiersman were the same knife, with different sheaths. That knife is a Nemo/frontiersman but the sheath is wrong. Both knives had the two line stamp. The Nemo didn't always have the serration, in fact the knives with serration are more rare. Hope this helps.

Prior, to 1972 mfg. the knives were the same. After that one can certainly tell which model it is. DM

Joe Houser's article in the Dec. 2006 newsletter said that there may be some three line stamped 122s from '72 but that they were stamped that way in '73 when it was reintroduced.

The Nemo was promoted as a dive knife. Were no concessions made in blade steel to compensate for salt water? Still a HC blade?

The Nemo was discontinued quite sometime before the 420HC steel came to be used so it was 440C.

Plumber, There are articles that exist. Thanks for posting that. They need to read more. DM

The auction text observes that the sheath is "not original equipment" so that factor should not figure into the consideration of whether this item is genuine.

Evil Eye Earl's collection focuses on the Nemo/Frontiersman. If that tang stamp exists he has it.

They are rare, but there are some out there. I have two.
