For fun....Adventure question?

Currently D&D 3.5. Still trying to get our D20 Future game off the ground.

Frank

Funny when I run D20 modern/future my PC's have to be coached a little on what to carry. We eventually made up standard bags for certain types of adventures.

Shadowrun! heck yeah Chummer:D Don't forget Cyberpunk 2020 or Rifts. there are some unique equipment choices there. Suprised that rope, a 10' pole, and black mono Katana's havent been mentioned.

First thing I want is the Shoulder Bag of Infinite Holding +5 that Indy carries. Carries everything with no weight. . . ;)

This is for fun, for adventure? Then style is everything.

Zippo lighter
Kukri
SAK -- Outrider, because it has scissors, and "Outrider" sounds adventury
A Classic gun -- I have a thing for the S&W Model 27
A good hat -- I'll go with my Tilley
Clothes by Carhartt -- since it's a fantasy, I want the old Made in the USA Carhartts.
Like someone else said -- rope. Charles Bronson can't be wrong!
Grapple for the rope.
Bullwhip -- for swinging, climbing or keeping the lippy broad that always tags along in line
Good set of custom fit gloves
Shovel, gotta have a good shovel -- old e-tool with the pick on the back being preferred.
Old-Timey round 2-qt canteen.

A set of ball bearings
Some 3-in-1 wt oil
A couple gallons of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone
A box of condoms
Breath mints (or gum would work too)
Yellow CV Case Peanut

So no real purpose to this question, but this forum is incredibly intelligent and resourceful so I will pose it here.

If you were told you are going on an adventure, say to recover something lost.

Fairly indiana jones, but heres the kicker. You can bring whatever you want, but you have NO idea what you will be facing. Could be traps, creatures, animals, caves, huge drops, climbing, maybe some fire making for warmth in a cave, etc.

....

Take a credit card and telephone. You can hire/buy the rest as soon as you figure out what you are up against. If you plan to travel to some place exotic, don't forget to take a wide battery of prophylactic medications; a nasty illness will ruin the adventure.

...and, you may want to take some tips from these experts:

I'll carry what I have now, but I'll have very little chance if I'm sent to kind of places I've never experienced
like vast dessert or tropical rain forest.

I'd take a SAK Recruit, an M1917 S&W Revolver, lunch in my daypack, and an extremely hot "assistant".

There might be significant, random delays in our progress!
