For Long Service

Vic Ambassador - seems like forever
MiniGrip, Fenix L0D, and solar powered radio controlled G-Shock - also seem like forever, but not as long as the Vic. Let's just say over 5 years- all trouble-free and worth way more than I paid for them.

Oh, yeah, the latest addition is a Space pen- I think its the "Military" (black, clickie body, got it at REI)- so far, so good, but's its only been a couple of years.

I suppose I ought to post, since I started it.

I've carried a carabiner for some fifteen years, although the cheap ones wear out after being snapped open and closed a few thousand times. The one I've got now is a big stainless steel one, on it's third year and still going.

I rotate knives daily, but for the past two years, my mini-Grip has spent the most time with me, and that's a long time for one of my knives. I usually get something else before that.

My boots are part of my gear, although I haven't found a brand I'm willing to stick with. Doc Marten's right now, we'll see how long they last.

My current cell phone has been on duty for five years. My Schrade Walden 8OT stockman has been carried more or less continuously since sometime back in the 1970's. And I've carried a Parker Stainless Classic ballpoint every day since 1980. I'm on the third one, the first was lost in 1988 and the second had an unfortunate encounter with a live electrical wire while being used as an alignment punch in 2007.

Mission Wallet with a Space Pen (my third...I lose 'em) and a Buck 55. A Maratac AAA light, my favorite of the small lights.

I was given a army mess kit when I was 12 it had a p38 in the set I have carried it ever since . I'm 50 now. I have carried some version of a swiss army knife for the last 20 years 1st 10 or so years was a tinker (It has been sharpened so much I have been ask if the blades are custom) it now gets rotated between a red famer and an adventurer.

Any Columbia clothing. Ive got shirts, jackets and shorts Ive used for 10+ years. Their PFG fishing shirts seem to last forever.--KV

A Mountain Smith frameless summit pack. I bought it in 1989 and it's been in non-stop use ever since. I've taken it around the world nine times and lived out of it for half a year at a stretch. It's the day pack I use for everything from grocery runs to day hikes to overseas travel. Aside from replacing a couple fastex buckles and a zipper pull, it's original. Ten years ago I was amazed that it was still holding up so well. Now I'm just baffled. Maxpedition has no idea what "hard use" gear really is...

A Ruger Standard Auto. Bought in about '67. Fired a potful of rounds and I still use it.

A Buck 303. Bought in ~1980. I carried it every day until sometime in the 90's.

My Klein electrician tools and pouch. Bought in the 70's. Still using them.
