For martial artists only -- 17 oz. Kumar Kobra.

Jay,

I apologize if my tone seemed flippant or offensive. I practice several martial arts. I own a number of firearms and knives. I have no moral objections to using weapons on people in certain well-defined circumstances.

My point was simply that I often find myself carrying a light, thin khukuri for solely utility purposes.

If I was concerned about defense I would probably choose a scoped model 70 in .270 cal., or a Glock model 19, depending on the anticipated range.

I think you'll enjoy one of these light knives if you try one.

Why not we discuss about the suitability of Khukuri as a weapon (self defence or sort of that) in a special thread? Maybe some of our Bando people @ Ninjas @ Samurai @ Wushu people @ Kungfu people @ Mandigo @ Pendekar may give their opinions on this issue!

NEPAL HO!

Howard, I am glad you stated your post as you did. There are a lot of people out there who might get the wrong impression about knife and/or gun owners. This forum has many highly respectible people involved like yourself. --- I bow to you sir for many of your outstanding posts and replys!

I have owned a gun of some kind for maybe 60 years -- never shot anybody with any of them.

Same with knifes -- 60 years of owning several and never stabbed or slashed anybody.

I have been lucky.
