Since that knucklehead robbed my truck and stole so many awesome knives I haven't been carrying a knife. So this week I took a Helle blade that I'd bought months ago and did a project! I thought you guys might like to see it. Its curly birch and walnut (from the family farm) with black and maroon spacers and three mosaic pins.

Edited... The Nessmuk is also wearing walnut from the farm, and is for my neighbors dad. He's a knife knut that hasn't discovered forums yet. Do you think I should open his eyes, or do you think it'd be wrong to do that to his checkbook????

Nice looking knives Fliddleback! The handle looks very comfortable, and another great looking Nessmuk as well!

They are both rockin'! Yes it's true, this place is definitely hazerdous to the wallet.

Ignorance is bliss, they say. But its so hard to not draw someone who loves knives into this world.

great looking stuff andy... :thumbup:i really like that scandi handle...

i was bummed i couldn't swing one of bushcrafters into my budget....:( next time...

Great Work.

I'm really sorry you got robbed.
It may sound trite, but I still don't understand why so much bad crud happens to good people. Well, if it don't kill you, makes you stronger....
I hope. Been telling myself that for 20 years.

Thanks guys. For a while, I just wasn't motovated to make anything with that blade.

Fantastic work Fiddleback. I really like what you did with that blade. But... you do know you would get more joy from it by passing it on to a fellow forumite, right? And who would appreciate the craftsmanship more than an older gent? Maybe someone about to embark on an epic adventure? Hmm... now who do we know that... Of course! ME!!:D

Codger

PS- Still need a good Nesmuk if you know anyone who makes them well and isn't backed up for a year or more.

wow - very creative! do the double mosaic pins on the pommel serve to extend the handle beyond the length of the tang? that's what it looks like - very cool! also nice how you dropped the point in relation to the handle.

Codger, LOL. You get reps for that one. And yes, I know such a Nessmuk maker... ;)

do the double mosaic pins on the pommel serve to extend the handle beyond the length of the tang?

Yes. The tang goes down to the mosaic pin in the middle of the handle. It could have gone all the way, but I cut it off. So I wanted to add some strength to the glue joint between the walnut and the birch.

Beautiful knives once again Andy!!!! Sorry about your truck being broken into.

Thanks guys. Its a fun easy project for you guys out there itching for a project!
