For or Against: and Why!

I like both. I'm partial to a satin finish but a DLC coated blade just looks
cool on some models and as others have said, helps with corrosion.
It's just plain nice that we have the option on certain models to choose
coated or satin.

Pretty much no lanyard on tip down blades, I just don't see the point, you can't use it to pull up the knife, but tip up, yes.

Agreed!! I know Brad, Lanyards are dead!, and we're on to another topic:D But I totally agree.

I don't get it when knives have lanyard holes when they are only set up for tip down carry. What good is the lanyard when it's at the bottom of your pocket??

If you used a lanyard long enough to hang outside your pocket on a tip down carry knife, it still wouldn't be a smooth, straight pull. It would still just jerk the knife sideways. I too, like lanyards on my tip up knives.

hmm. it totally slipped my mind that i like tip up knives in general but yeah, lanyards on tip down knives would only truly be suitable if it was something like a chive, where the lanyard is just something more to grip. but for extraction purposes, tip up all the way

coatings huh? well i like my DLC coated blades for sure. For use on food, gimmie satin. Dont like dealing with the rust potential if I cant clean it off right away. My JYD2 has had that problem. Not a huge problem, but a tad on the annoying side for sure.

speaking of coated blades. has anybody noticed a difference in texture from the ZDP coated cyclone and the ZT200? if you lightly run your finger on the coated portion of either blade the ZDP is rather smooth while the 200 seems to have vertical striations of sorts. they are very small but they definitely exist. which brought up a question.

how is tungsten DLC applied to kershaw blades?

Sometimes you just get caught up in it...but it will continue!
